Posture Care
Practical help for desk-shaped necks and shoulders, at Integrative Chiropractic.
The body adapts to what it does most, and for many of us that means hours of sitting and screens. Over time, the rounded shoulders and forward head that feel normal at a desk can bring tight muscles, stiff joints, and that familiar ache between the shoulder blades.
Posture problems are rarely about laziness and never fixed by simply "sitting up straight" — muscles fatigue, and the old shape returns. What helps is restoring the mobility that long positions quietly take away, and building the strength to hold something better without effort.
At Integrative Chiropractic, Dr Lionel Leger starts by looking at how your spine actually moves — where it is stiff, where the muscles are working overtime, and how your daily setup contributes. Care typically pairs adjustments for the joints that have stopped moving well, particularly in the upper back, with soft-tissue work for the chest and neck muscles that shorten with sitting.
The other half of posture care happens between visits: a short set of mobility and strengthening exercises, plus small, realistic changes to your workstation and habits. Frequent small resets beat heroic corrections.
If your neck and shoulders finish the workday tired and sore, schedule an evaluation. A body with more options is a more comfortable one.
